I can never seem to produce crumpets, pancakes or fritters faster than I can eat them. I think hunger and pan size are largely to blame for this. And the deliciousness of the items. I make excellent pancakes. To make a sizeable quantity of crumpets or pancakes, I first need to eat the first 10 or so as fast as I make them. Maybe with butter and honey, maybe cinnamon and sugar. then the ones that follow are in no danger of being eaten - by me that is... ;)
A few words of caution I can share with you from my own experience -
Don't buy anything from The Fruit-Spot. I know there's a branch in Woodmead, not sure where there's others. The fruit is basically on the verge of being too ripe. Having grown up on a farm however, I like my fruit to be firm and crisp when possible. The peaches and apricots I bought at the Fruit-Spot were anything but. Also if you remember that fake olive oil scare we had a number of years back - that place is one of the places that sold it.
Don't ever use Head-and-Shoulders menthol shampoo on any hair except the hair on your head. Not unless you wanna get kinky that is. I found out the hard way... bwahaha - hard way. I crack me up ;)

Hmm, thinks that contain menthol should definitely be kept away from... um... 'sensitive' areas. Unless, of course, you are into that.

Try making pancakes/crumpets/fritters in a household where there are 6 people glaring at the pan waiting for them to come out... they're best made alone coz then you only have yourself to worry about!

Benny - We used to have the most awesome homemade pan. Large flat thing that took up the whole stove. Yo could do like 5 or 6 nice big crumpets at a time. Sadly it went walkabout during a move :(
